Bread, Love and Dreams

Vittorio De Sica plays the middle-aged marshal Antonio Carotenuto of the Carabinieri in a Distant Literary Italian mountain village Termed Sagliena (actually the village of Castel San Pietro Romano, in Lazio). He is worried to wed, and selects Gina Lollobrigida because his bride. But she is in deep love with De Sica subordinate Roberto Risso. Mistaking her behavior as promiscuity,'' De Sica makes advances towards her, but she spurns him. Forsaking the woman to Risso's arms, De Sica decides to pay for village midwife Marisa Merlini. Things become more complicated once Annarella, the midwife, starts displaying her like to Antonio. She is currently hiding a secret and the Marshal is going to soon be in a circumstance that is challenging.
