40 directors were requested to get a short film with the first Cinematographe working under conditions. There were three rules: (1) The film might be no more than 52 seconds, (2) no audio audio was permitted, and (3) no more than three chooses. The consequences run the gamut from Zhang Yimou's convention-thwarting joke to David Lynch's bizarre mini epic.
