Red Trees
Award-winning filmmaker, Marina Willer (Cartas da Ma?e), generates an impressionistic visual composition because she traces her daddy's family journey as one of only twelve Jewish households to live the Nazi occupation of Prague through World War II. Photographed by Academy Award® nominee Ce?sar Charlone (City of God), the film travels from war-torn Eastern Europe into the color and light from South America and is told through the voice of Willer's dad Alfred (as narrated by Tim Pigott-Smith, Quantum of Solace), who witnessed real nightmares, transportations and also suicides but survived to construct a post-war life within an architect at Brazil. RED TREES is a timely look at a family group surrounded by warfare who discovers peace, While the world struggles with the present refugee catastrophe.
