Take Hart
Take Hart is just a children's television series about art. It took over from Vision On, and conducted in 1977. The series featured the Plasticine character Morph that was revived and Hart, along with other characters created by David Sproxton like'Smoulder the Moulder', which had been a lump of mould which may make props by'spraying' them out of a spraycan. The only other human was Mr Bennett, the caretaker, played with Colin Bennett. The programme won a BAFTA award for Hart in 1984.
In addition to demonstrating projects, artworks were created by Hart on it studio floor, and even used shores as well as open spaces as'canvases'. This concept was adopted by Art Attack.
A normal feature of the series was'The Gallery', which displayed artworks delivered in by young audiences. The easy-listening vibraphone music accompanying this feature -"Left Bank Two", written by Wayne Hill - has become British TV musical lore. In later show,"Left Bank Two" alternated with John Williams' listing of"Cavatina", which is also well-remembered by many audiences.
