Dark Shadows is an American soap opera which aired weekdays from June 27, 1966, about the ABC television network, to April 2, 1971. The series was created by Dan Curtis. Will not mention some supernatural elements. When ghosts were introduced roughly 6 months after it began, it was unprecedented in daytime tv.
If vampire Barnabas Collins appeared per year to its run the series became popular. Dark Shadows featured warlocks, zombies, man-made creatures, witches, werewolves, time travel, and also a parallel world. A little company of celebrities each played with functions. As celebrities went and came , a few characters were played by more than one celebrity. Important writers besides Art Wallace comprised Sam Hall Malcolm Marmorstein, Gordon Russell, and Violet Welles.
Dark Shadows was distinguished by lots of dramatic plot spins insides storylines, its melodramatic performances adventurous audio score, plus epic and broad cosmos of epic adventures and characters. Regarded as a member of a classic, it continues to enjoy an intense cult following. Even though original series ran for just five decades, its programming as an everyday drama let it amass more episodes during its conduct compared to other genre set including Doctor Who and the entire Star Trek tv franchise.
