Hi-de-Hi!
Hi-de-Hi! Is a sitcom set during 1959 and 1960, also a holiday camp, in Maplins, and was compiled by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, who wrote the Army of Dad and It Ain't Half Hot Mum and the others. It aired on the BBC.
The name was that the phrase used in early episodes and to encircle the cyclists was written Hi de Hi. The show revolved around the lifestyles of this camp direction and entertainers, a lot of them struggling actors or has beens.
The inspiration was that the adventure of Croft and authors Perry: Perry was a Redcoat at Butlins, Pwllheli throughout the holiday season, later being demobilised from the Army.
The show gained large crowds and won a BAFTA. In a 2008 poll and at Britain's Best Sitcom it came 40th in 2004 ! Has been voted the hottest comedy catchphrase that was 35th.
