Midnight Man
Midnight Man is a 2008 British tv serial produced by Carnival Films for the ITV network. The serial stars James Nesbitt a former journalist who discovers an worldwide conspiracy involving death squads and government policy groups, as Max Raban. It Co Stars Catherine McCormack as Alice Ross, a policy advisor who helps Reece Dinsdale, and Raban as Blake, their departure squad's head.
The serial was compiled by David Kane in response to national paranoia in the aftermath of the War on Terror. Kane was motivated with the way the films Three Days of the Condor, The Parallax View and The Chat showed a paranoia in the United States. The manager David Drury needed the mostly nighttime-set serial filmed to maximise the use of darkness and keep production costs down. His inspiration for the look of the serial originated from The Godfather, that featured rich colours.
A reaction to the serial was favorable. Critics thought the play has been uninspired and formulaic, but appreciated the acting and direction. Nesbitt obtained a Best Actor nomination at the 2008 ITV3 Crime Thriller Awards.
