NieA_7

NieA_7 is now a 13 episode anime series about Mayuko, a introverted student who resides above a Japanese bathhouse, free wheeling alien who resides in her closet and investigates her food, and NieA, a free loading. The series rolls gently up on topics of stereotypes discrimination, alienation, city-life vs town life, and assimilation. Mayuko, who attends a postsecondary faculty, is really a young girl living a way from her family and expresses a whole great deal of depression. NieA, who is apparently placed in a poor class by her fellow aliens due to being a real minority among them, instantly accuses anybody who calls a"dumb no-antenna" or the like, of discrimination. Aliens embrace ethnic styles, one opens a convenience store and selects Indian dress, yet another selects to connect herself with the Revolution. This theme of the outsider alien is transported through at the brief comic LiveAction series which ends each incident,"Dalgit's tid bit of Indian info." NieA7 is situated on a doujinshi by picture designer Yoshitoshi ABe and released by Kadokawa Shoten. Much of the staff of NieA7 was made up of individuals who had worked Serial Experiments Lain. It's usually assumed that they decided to do so string that was lighthearted to cool off after the intense and shadowy Serial Experiments Lain. This notion is further encouraged by the character Chiaki, a UFO enthusiast that shares a name with Chiaki J. Konaka, the scriptwriter for Lain.
