The Brittas Empire

The Brittas Empire is a sitcom created and written by Richard Fegen and Andrew Norriss. Chris Barrie plays with Gordon Brittas, the well-meaning but incompetent manager of Whitbury New Town Leisure Centre. The series ran for 53 episodes and seven string -- including just two Christmas specials to 1997 on BBC1. Fegen and norriss wrote the very initial five string, after which they left the series. The Brittas Empire enjoyed a long and productive run across the 1990s, also gained itself mainstream crowds. In 2004 the series came 47th on the BBC's Britain's Best Sitcom poll, and all series were released on DVD. Richard Fegen and the founders Andrew Norriss often combine farce with dramatic or surreal elements in episodes. As an instance in the series, the leisure center prepares only. Unlike the sitcom, deaths were also quite common.
