The Dalek Chronicles
Within their own full colour comic strip, the Daleks left their appearance on 23rd January 1965 onto the rear page of the new childrencomic TV Century 21. Written largely by David Whitaker, who was the show' original script editor, also exemplified by such legendary comic strip artists as Richard Jennings, Ron Turner and Eric Eden, this famous onepage strip ran for 104 instalments, and finally reasoned on the brink of the Daleks' projected attack on the inhabitants of Earth.
These strips have been reprinted often in other physician Who-related novels, Doctor Who Monthly, and Doctor Who Weekly and Doctor Who Classic Comics, as well as being issued complete and Dalek Annuals as well as in colour because a unique edition magazine.
Because of the gap between a feature and also a comic strip, a specific amount of adaptation was inevitable. Then every one would have lasted only about five minutes and been breathlessly fast-paced as to be virtually incomprehensible In the event the stories had been moved just as written. But so , the adaptations where made as sympathetic to the foundation material as possible, enlarging the original story in deeper characterisation atmosphere and the reference or in-joke's name.
In the event the strip contradicts information inside it series (and it can ), then contradiction remained no attempt was made to reconcile the 2... Equally, no matter how bad, awkward or unDalek-like a line of dialogue may be, it remained since it featured in the original strip. Included with this, wherever possible stills and the cartoons where based from the strip and also all design was based on the graphics seen in those panels. The aim was to attract the strips never change them to something different.
The adaptations were released to VCD between 2011 and 2004
