The Donna Reed Show
The Donna Reed Show is the American situation comedy starring Donna Reed Because the House Wife Donna Stone. Carl Betz Co Stars as her pediatrician husband Dr. Alex Stone, also Shelley Fabares and Paul Petersen because of their teenaged children, Mary and Jeff. The show aired on ABC in September 2-4, 1958. Petersen sister, Patty Petersen, joined the cast when Fabares abandoned the show from 1963. Patty Petersen had first appeared in the incident,"A Way of Her Own", on January 31, 1963.
Ann McCrea and bob Crane appeared at the past seasons buddies of the Stones, since the Kelseys, along with Darryl Richard became a routine as Smitty, the best friend of Jeff. The show featured a wide variety of star guests including Esther Williams like a famous dress designer, baseball superstars Don Drysdale and Willie Mays as themselves, teen heart throb James Darren like a pop singer with all the measles, puppy celebrity Lassie as herself, along with young Jay North of CBS's Dennis the Menace.
The series was created by William S. Roberts and made by Reed along with her then husband, producer Tony Owen. Episodes revolved around family issues of this time scale like throwing a retirement bash for a colleague firing a clumsy housekeeper, also finding quality time away from the youngsters. Edgy topics such as women's rights and freedom of the media proved explored.
