Tyler Perry's House of Payne can be a American comedy drama television show produced and created by playwright, manager, and producer Tyler Perry. The series revolved around a family living at Atlanta led by patriarch Curtis Payne and his wife Ella. The series premiered on June 21, 2006 in syndication, and also episodes were broadcast only from June 6, 2007 on TBS, before August 10, 2012. While primarily a comedy sitcom,'' House of Payne was known for comprising dark topics and subject matter, such as chemical dependence and abuse. It had aspects of slapstick. This show's storyline is serialized, with references to past episodes, creating a consistent narrative arc. More episodes aired with a predominantly African American cast than any other television show, exceeding The Cosby Show, Family Matters and The Jeffersons.
