Victory at Sea
Victory at Sea is actually a documentary television show about naval warfare. It had been condensed into a film in 1954. Excerpts from the music sound track, sold and by Richard Rodgers and Robert Russell Bennett, were re-recorded as listing albums. The television broadcasts included 26 halfhour segments--Sunday afternoons at 3pm in niches --ending and starting October 26, 1952. The chain, which won the Emmy award in 1954 as"most useful public affairs program", played an essential part in establishing historical"compilation" documentaries like a viable television genre.
Within 13,000 hours of footage German, British and Japanese navies during World War II were perused in the building of these episodes that were persuasive.
