Devil's Bride

The story of anna occurs on Åland Island at 1666, throughout the beginning of the systematic and widespread witch hunts in Scandinavian history. In most, 16 women were convicted of being in league with the devil, and seven of them were executed. For Judge Psilander, who's mastered the witch theories of this time, the trials are meant to cleanse the island of superstition, to have science and good sense prevail. The stubborn Anna, the main character, gets a romantic perspective of those events, having started working as a maid at the judge's house. With her friend Rakel's husband Elias, she falls On Anna's hardship, however, his infatuation with her awakens. A hurt and reports Rakel and covetous Anna decides to have revenge. It's only if Rakel is arrested, and things get that Anna understands the gravity of her doings.
