The Old Man and the Sea (Russian: ?????? ? ????) is a 1999 paint-on-glass-animated brief movie directed by Aleksandr Petrov, based on the publication of the same title by Ernest Hemingway. The movie won many awards, such as the Academy Award for Animated Short Film. Work on the film took place within a span of 2 and a half years in Montreal and has been funded by an range of Japanese, Russian and Canadian businesses. French and englishlanguage soundtracks to the film were published concurrently. It was the very very first film to be released at IMAX. Oscar winning cartoon of the Hemingway story.
