Minor-leaguer Carlton Garret takes a sudden road trip to monitor his dad baseball player Kyle Garret when Carlton's mother gets ill sick. Carlton struggles to take care of the collection of misadventures due to the antics of his father, once paired. Efforts at bonding arrive at a head since the mismatched duo make their way out of Ohio straight back home to Houston.
