Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World
Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World is really just a thirteen part British tv series looking at unexplained phenomena from all over the earth. It was made by Yorkshire Television for the ITV system and broadcast in September 1980.
Each program is introduced and book-ended by science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke in a nutshell sequences filmed in SriLanka. Gordon Honeycombe narrates the bulk of the episodes. The show was made by John Fanshawe and headed by Michael Weigall, Peter Jones and Charles Flynn. It also featured a sound track composed by British artist Alan Hawkshaw.
Book Club Associates published a hardcover book with the same name, authored by Fairley and Welfare, by which this show's contents were explored. It comprised his comments by the close of each chapter or topic in addition to an introduction. In 1985, a paperback with this publication was released by Harper Collins Publishers.
The show was followed by Arthur C. Clarke's World of Strange Powers in 1985 and Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious Universe in 1994.
