The Dame Edna Experience
The Dame Edna Experience is a British television Humor talk-show hosted by Dame Edna Everage. It ran on ITV for a dozen episodes, and two Christmas specials. The initial seven aired the seven at 1989, in 1987 for its first time. It had been directed by Ian Hamilton and Alasdair MacMillan and made by London Weekend Television.
Regulars on this app, moreover Dame Edna, were also her"bridesmaid" Madge Allsop and Robin Houston that had been the announcer, together with orchestra conducted and arranged by Laurie Holloway.
Each program featured a few celebrity guests, usually three, but some apps contained around eight guests. There might also be additional invited"guests" like Kurt Waldheim and Imelda Marcos who formerly introduced stage right would fall prey to a trap door or something similar and don't make it to their seat.
The complete series was released on DVD from BBC Video at June 2004, also can be purchased as an entire set including the three An Audience with Dame Edna specials, and other stuff and the Christmas specials.
Network DVD in the UK in 2007 released for Area 2 the series, being a 4-disc set. For reasons unknown, the Region 2 release doesn't include that the 1989 Christmas special"The Dame Edna Satellite Adventure" that ended the second series and included Ursula Andress, Yehudi Menuhin, also Robert Kilroy-Silk. It will include the one-off 1990 Xmas special A Night On Mount Edna with guests Mel Gibson, Gina Lollobrigida, Charlton Heston and Julio Iglesias.
